Cairo – 1st February, 2023:
On Monday, 30 January, at the Chancery of Sierra Leone in Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Sadiq Silla, Ambassador of the Republic Of Sierra Leone to the Arab Republic of Egypt was awarded a Certificate of Merit for accomplishment and team building by Executives of Sierra Leone Students Union in Egypt. His Excellency has served as the Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt since presenting Letters of Credence to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt in March 2022.
Presenting the Certificate to the Ambassador, the president, Alpha Umar Jalloh, of the Students Union said his Excellency has extended the scope of his job to the community which provides support and comfort on consular services and welfare during times of crisis or need to the men and women who live in Egypt. He cited that, the Ambassadors’ most important achievement was in developing and fostering bilateral relationships between the Embassy and the Al Azhar Al Sheriff. Previously, Mr. Jalloh said, the relationship between the two consisted of
little more than theological academic arrangements. Today, the joint ventures between the Embassy, the Students, and Al Azhar Al Sheriff are not only theological academics but essential to the sciences and other fields of empowerment.
Prior to being appointed as Ambassador, Sadiq Silla was Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation. This is his first overseas post.
Delivering a statement, His Excellency Ambassador Sadiq Silla declared that he cherished the honors bestowed on him by the students and went on to say that he owes it to his staff but most importantly, he is guided by His Excellency Brig. Rtd. Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s philosophy of integrating communities, and people and guiding them on establishing community programs to help people in need in the host country and other countries of accreditation. He demanded that they all work towards achieving their dreams and building a better Sierra Leone.
