Sierra Leone and Egypt signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), on Wednesday, 16 May 2024 to start Sierra Leones’ reforms in the public service. The MOU was signed in Cairo by Amara Kallon, Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs of Sierra Leone and Prof. Dr. Saleh El Sheikh, head of Central Agency for Organization and Administration (CAOA) in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly.
The Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly asserted Egypt’s willingness to promote ties with Sierra Leone in various domains and offer all needed support to Sierra Leone’s Ministry Of Public Administration and Political Affairs.
Sierra Leone’s Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Amara Kallon, affirmed that Sierra Leone is a committed partner in upgrading and restoring, the performance
of the workforce.
The MOU was signed within the framework of the enhancing bilateral ties, including getting Sierra Leone to benefit from Egypt’s expertise in restructuring governmental institutions.
Within the MOU, Egypt will offer technical support for Sierra Leone in preparing new legislation related to public services.
The cooperation will also include drawing a training plan for the different cadres working in the Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) in addition to exchanging expertise in the field of technology.
Amara Kallon thanked Egypt for the warm welcome, underlining the depth of bilateral ties. Pointing out that the agreement strengthens and reinforces our shared commitment to promote the African heritage.
He lauded the Egyptian experiment, especially the creation of the New Administrative Capital.
He noted that shared collaboration will be an illustration for the cooperation of African states.
