The Egyptian Ambassador accredited to Sierra Leone, Ambassador Rashia Soliman Mohi Eldin Soliman, paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Egypt, Ambassador Sadiq Silla on Sunday, 1 September 2024. The two diplomats had never met in person before, but they had heard of each other’s dedication to fostering strong diplomatic relations between their respective countries.

Ambassador Soliman arrived at the Sierra Leonean Embassy in Cairo, where Ambassador Silla warmly welcomed her. They exchanged pleasantries and engaged in a friendly conversation about their countries’ shared history and mutual interests. Ambassador Soliman and Ambassador Silla exchanged cards as as a sign of fraternality and friendship.

During their meeting, the two ambassadors discussed various ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Sierra Leone, particularly in the areas of trade, culture, and education. They exchanged ideas on how to promote tourism, agriculture, education, foreign service improvements, and security between the two countries and facilitate coordination and exchange of professionals for Sierra Leone’s foreign service academy

As the meeting came to a close, Ambassador Silla welcomed Ambassador Soliman to visit Sierra Leone and explore the rich cultural heritage of his country. Ambassador Soliman graciously accepted the invitation and expressed her eagerness to further strengthen the ties between Egypt and Sierra Leone.

The meeting between the two ambassadors was a successful and productive one, laying the foundation for future collaborations and partnerships between their countries. As they bid farewell to each other, both ambassadors were filled with optimism and excitement about the potential for deepening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Egypt and Sierra Leone.
