Sierra Leone Police Officers Celebrates Excellence in Law Enforcement Training: Inspector Ishmeal Keifala Recognized as Ideal Officer in International Counter-Terrorism Training in Cairo, Egypt

The Egyptian Police Academy had proudly announced that Inspector Ishmeal Keifala from Sierra Leone has been awarded the prestigious title of “Ideal Officer” in the recent training course number 362 on “Countering International Terrorism.” During a graduation ceremony on Wednesday, 16 October 2024 at the Police Academy in Cairo. This specialized course, which took place at the Police Research Centre (PRC) from August 24 to October 17, 2024, was conducted in collaboration with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD)

Inspector Keifala’s exceptional performance throughout the course has earned him two significant accolades. He was recognized as the foremost officer among his peers, receiving a certificate that highlights his outstanding contributions and leadership qualities. His achievements include:

Outstanding performance by demonstrating excellent skills in both academic and practical applications of counter-terrorism strategies. Discipline, in upholding the highest standards of conduct and professionalism throughout the training period. Physical Excellence in physical training exercises, showcasing remarkable fitness and resilience, Marksmanship in achieving top results in shooting drills, reflecting his commitment to proficiency in law enforcement tact Leadership in serving as the chief of course #362, where he displayed exemplary leadership and mentorship to fellow participants.

Other officers from the Sierra Leone police who successfully completed the rigorous training program included Assistant Suprintendent of Police, ASP Martin Fayia, and Inspector Francis A. Blake.

In an exclusive interview with him, Inspector Keifala said those awards serve to highlight his accomplishment for which he is sent to cairo and underscores the value of international cooperation in law enforcement training. “I am elated to be singled out of the 21 countries raising the flag amongst African and commonwealth countries. I am glad to represent the Sierra Leone police in an excellent way.” Keifala added.
