Cairo, Egypt – 25 May 2025: A delegation of senior officers from the Sierra Leone Police currently undergoing specialized training in Egypt paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Ambassador Sadiq Silla at the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Sarayat Maadi, Cairo. The visit is a demonstration of international cooperation and capacity building.

The delegation, composed of seven officers including representatives from the Immigration Department, is in Egypt for an intensive two-month security training programme at the prestigious International Security Training Center (ISTC) – Police Academy in Cairo. The training, which spans from late April to June 26, covers five critical areas: VIP and Vital Installations Protection, Leadership, Training of Trainers, Organized Crime, and Border Security.

The visiting officers—CSP Emmanuel Kpulun, Supt. Ishmael Kamara, ASP Alusine Turay, Chief Inspector Alphaous Massaquoi, Inspector Edward Korio, Sgt Prince Jabati, and Mr. Kallon from the Immigration Department—shared insights into their ongoing courses and updated the Ambassador on their progress and the broader objectives of the training initiative.

Ambassador Sadiq Silla warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed pride in the professional strides being made by the Sierra Leonean security personnel. He emphasized the importance of such international training engagements in strengthening the country’s security architecture and reaffirmed the strong and mutually beneficial partnership between Sierra Leone and Egypt, particularly in the area of security cooperation.

He further encouraged the officers to serve as worthy ambassadors of Sierra Leone, urging them to return with enhanced skills and leadership perspectives that would contribute meaningfully to national development upon their return.

This visit not only reaffirmed the growing ties between Sierra Leone and Egypt but also highlighted the government’s commitment to building a modern and capable police force equipped to meet evolving security challenges both at home and abroad.
